Beach Bound!

Tomorrow we're finally leaving for our summer vacation! We'll be joining Lori, Greg and baby Owen in Myrtle Beach....I so need this vacation and am thoroughly looking forward to it :) Not to mention I could use some sun since the tanning bed has been a no-no for me this summer! Robbie's family will also be down next week so it will be nice to spend some vacation time with them as well! I'm sure I'll have tons of pictures to share when we return.....

Hello elastic waist pants!

So as my clothes become slightly uncomfortable, I decided that it might be a good idea to go ahead and do some maternity pants shopping so I don't wake up one morning and have absolutely nothing to wear! Rob was a good sport and tagged along with me around Concord Mills on Saturday. To my advantage, Old Navy was having a super super sale so I was able to get some capris, jeans, etc. to get me through the summer for very cheap - needless to say I was very excited! Lori also gave me a huge laundry basket full of her maternity clothes to borrow so a HUGE 'THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU' to her!!! And I'm not gonna lie, although I don't really "need" to start wearing the maternity pants just yet, they're pretty comfortable and I'm not ashamed to start rocking 'em :)

We also had bachelorette & bachelor party celebrations this weekend. Heather Kistel and Will Funderburk, good friends of ours from Charlotte, are getting married the end of August and Rob and I joined them on their 'last night single' celebrations on Saturday. I was able to participate in the lingerie shower & bachelorette dinner at City Tavern with Heather and the girls. I'll post some pictures soon. Jenny, being the awesome BFF that she is, left early with me and we caught a movie and had a nice little girls night! Rob joined the boys at the Rusty Rudder for the evening. Sunday we were able to grab some pool time in Charlotte before heading back and then we crashed. It was a nice weekend with friends!

2nd Doctor's Appointment - 13 weeks

Yesterday Rob and I had our 2nd baby doctor's appointment. Everything went well! We were able to hear the heartbeat which was extremely exciting and very comforting. It truly is AMAZING! My next appointment is scheduled for August 18th where we'll have our 2nd ultrasound and be able to find out what we're having!!!! I'm sooooo excited! It's gonna be a long 5 weeks of waiting though!

Yesterday I was also 13 weeks so I'm rounding out the first trimester and headed into the second. I can't complain though - so far pregnancy hasn't been too bad at all! I know I've been very fortunate to not have any major morning sickness or nausea, etc....so hopefully I'll remain fortunate - I can handle the need for an occasional nap, which isn't out of the ordinary for me anyways :)

Congratulations Eric & Aislyn

On Thursday we found out that our great friends Eric & Aislyn Masten are gonna have a little one too!!! I'm so excited to have someone to tag along with me on the baby journey! I swear though that Aislyn has some crazy intuition going on b/c she called me almost 3 weeks ago and said, "I think we did it!" Call me crazy but I had no clue the day after - haha! However, she was right! It's exciting to know that not only will our baby be able to grow up not far behind Owen (Lori & Greg's baby), who was born in May (the day Rob and I discovered we were pregnant to be exact), but also with Baby Masten who is due only 2 months after us in March. Yay for the baby boom!!! Big congratulations to Eric & Aislyn though....and welcome aboard to Aislyn ;) We love you guys bunches and bunches and stuff!!!
