15 Months!

So our 'chunky monkey' is no longer a "baby" but becoming a big boy. And he's still literally a big boy according to his 15 month checkup weighing in at 30.4 lbs. & 33 inches tall (both still in the 97th percentile)!!! He's such a funny little dude and we have so much fun together! I'm excited about summertime b/c he absolutely loves being outside (he would live out there!) and would play "ball" all the time (which Rob is super excited about)! I absolutely love when he comes up and just gives me a big ole hug and kiss and plays with my hair....those are some of the moments I wish I could freeze in time :) I've posted a few pictures from Easter, etc. Hope you enjoy!

Oh, and big family news (no we're not expecting again - ha!) but we've purchased a new home in Lexington with a much bigger lot for Carter to play and a much bigger house for all our STUFF! We're so excited and just keeping our fingers crossed for an anticipated offer this week on our current house!

HAPPY SPRING!!!

I have finally posted Carter's 1 year pictures in the link to the right. Yet another successful session at Portrait Innovations....we love that place!!! Still can't believe how quickly he's growing into a "big boy". We just love him to pieces!!! Hope you enjoy.

Happy Birthday Carter!!!!

Wow!!! Where does the time go? It's hard to believe that it has been a whole year since our little (yet big in our lives) blessing joined us! It truly does seem like yesterday that I found out I was pregnant....went to the hospital....and brought home our little man. I won't say that I've already forgotten the sleepless nights, the trials of adjusting to being a new mommy and the moments of continuous crying (ha!) but I will say that the joy and laughter that Carter has brought to our lives overshadows any struggles along the way! Being a mom and having a family has been the most amazing experience and I can't wait to see what's to come....

"Birth"day - January 17, 2009
First family "portrait" :)
It's amazing how quickly our little baby boy has grown into a little man. I'm blown away everyday at how he explores, learns, and does new things. Carter is such a smart little booger... he's practically running (not just walking) around the house now, totally can anticipate our reactions and emotions to everything he does, eats like a big boy, has "mama" and "dada" down pat, and really "knows" the special people in his life that he loves so very much!
On Saturday (Jan 16th) we had Carter's first birthday party at Tumble Tots of Lexington and it was a blast!!! We had a massive turn out and so so much fun! Carter and all his birthday buddies loved the trampoline and all the obstacles and wide open floor space to just run and play and have a ball! He got soooo many awesome toys and clothes and thankfully a nice and big toy chest for the mounds of toys he's accumulated over the holidays and his birthday (thanks everyone!).
Happy Birthday "Mr. Man" :)
Trampoline fun w/ daddy
Tumble Tots gym

To everyone's surprise I made Carter's "dig-in" birthday cake. I (and Rob too) was pretty impressed with myself. In a taste test I realized that maybe I used a little too much cooking spray - ha! However, as you'll see below, Carter thought I did an excellent job and had no problem digging in...poor thing has no idea of his mommy's true cooking abilities :)

What a year!!! Happy Birthday buddy....we love you so much and can't wait for the many fun and exciting years to come!

Happy New Year!

Hello 2010!!! What a great holiday season this year with Mr. Man (one of my favorite nicknames for Carter - thanks Aunt Jenny)!!! Right before Christmas we had a little less than a foot of snow, which was wild for that time of year, and had such a great time just stay snuggled up in the house together and playing in the snow.

We had an amazing Christmas with Carter....he got soooo many toys and loves them all! Santa brought Carter a tool bench that he loves to dump all the pretend nails and screws all over the floor just as soon as we clean them up...it's quite the game! It's was too funny how everyone knew exactly what Carter would love.....cellphones! I think he got 3 or 4 of them - haha! Oh, and Aunt Heather & Uncle Joshy got him the coolest Little Tikes firetruck (of course since Uncle Josh is a firefighter himself) and it is to neat! Carter (and ourselves) are so blessed to have such amazing family to surround ourselves with during the holidays and everyday!

The only downer over the holidays is right before New Year's Mr. Man became really pitiful and was running a really high fever. We took him to the doc and after a 1/2 day of precautionary tests (since his fever peaked at 105 - yikes!) we learned that he had a double ear infection and some other bacterial infection....poor guy :( But thanks to antibiotics and Motrin he was back to the wild & crazy Carter!

We hope everyone had a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. Check out all the pictures from over the holidays with the link to the right!

Go, Go, Go!!!

It's official....Carter is a walking machine! Carter has been walking around furniture for months now and taking a few steps here and there but this weekend he took off! Now that he's figured this whole walking thing out he's EVERYWHERE, and into EVERTHING, and completely wide-open and NON-STOP!!!! :) Although now I know that I will be even more tired in the evenings it's so cute and fun and just neat to watch him explore! He follows daddy everywhere and watches everything daddy does. Funny story - apparently he's taken note of daddy cleaning b/c as we were waiting in line for Santa this weekend he had a wet wipe in his hand, walked over to a decorative box thing and started wiping it off like he was cleaning it....too funny! Anyways, he loves wondering into the guest room (which is funny b/c there's nothing fun to do in there) and he's discovered the toilet paper roll in the bathroom! He never wonders into his room though...I guess b/c he thinks that's where you go night-night and that's not what he wants to do! He's such a smart little booger and so much fun....I could just eat him up :) I'll TRY to post pictures soon....I know i've been slack.

9 MONTHS!!!

I can't believe that Carter is fastly approaching the 1 year mark! He had his 9 month check-up yesterday and he's still right on track and a very healthy all-american boy. He weighed in at 26 lbs (<97th percentile) and is 30 inches tal (95th percentile) so I really am starting to think that we might truly have a football player in the making :)

He's growing into such a fun little boy and not a little baby anymore (which is sad but mama's not quite ready for another yet - ha!). Carter has his mommy's patience and daddy's temper which doesn't always make for the best combination but he's also so so funny and silly and super smart and we're having so much fun watching him develop his multi-dimensional great personality (other than the whining which I have to admit is 100% from me - oops)! He stands all by himself and has the silliest dance that he does which makes us crack up every time (I'll try to post a video soon!) and he's walking like crazy around the furniture and trying so so hard to really walk. He'll take a few steps and then realize he's doing it all by himself and then plops down on the booty! He loves to play peek-a-boo, patty cake, and clap his hands - we're working on "touchdown" haha! Carter is so much fun, not to mention super cute, and we are so proud of him!
Recently as a family we've enjoyed going to the Dixie Classic fair (Carter rode the carousel with mommy and the choo choo train with Daddy but LOVED the petting zoo), the pumkin patch (in which Carter picked out the biggest/most expensive pumpkin to take home), and spending lots of time at the grandparents houses getting super spoiled!

I've posted more pictures (link in upper right) of 6-9 months - please enjoy!
